2021 Election Summary

Another coordinated state election has come and gone, but Colorado voters made their voices heard. See the full results here.

With all 64 counties reporting, 1,550,990 ballots were cast -- just under 40% of registered voters statewide.

For state ballot issues, all three measures were defeated.

Amendment 78: Legislative Authority For Spending State Money
Yes = 43% / No = 57%
Proposition 119: Learning Enrichment & Academic Progress Program
Yes = 46% / No = 54%
Proposition 120: Property Tax Assessment Rate Reduction
Yes = 43% / No = 57%

General Resources

Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, Dec. 7! Set up your gift to LWVCO now and it will process automatically on CGD.

This is a special opportunity to donate because every gift you make (in advance or day-of) helps LWVCO unlock a portion of the $1.6 million incentive fund. For example, if we were to raise 1% of the total amount raised on CGD, we would receive an additional 1% of that $1.6 million!

Thank you for supporting our mission of educating and empowering voters statewide! Want to have an even greater impact? Consider setting up a monthly donation to LWVCO through Colorado Gives!

ACTION ALERT: The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (JLVRAA) still needs your help! Contact Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper NOW about your support. The JLVRAA will fully restore the Voting Rights Act (VRA) and ensure renewed oversight, accountability and justice in our democracy. We must ensure that every voter is treated fairly at the ballot box and has equal access to vote!

The Colorado Freedom of Information Coalition (CFOIC) has revised and updated their guide to the state's "Sunshine Laws," which apply to open records and open meetings. This helpful guide is now available online in a searchable format that is also indexed by topic.

SAVE THE DATE: The League of Women Voters National Convention is happening June 23-26! The Convention will be a hybrid event that takes place virtually as well as in-person in downtown Denver. Learn more on the LWVUS website!
