LWVUS Statement in Response to SCOTUS Decision on Presidential Immunity

WASHINGTON -- Today, the League of Women Voters of the United States' Chief Counsel Celina Stewart issued this response to the US Supreme Court's 6-3 decision in Trump v. United States:
 
"The Supreme Court's ruling to grant extraordinary immunity for sitting presidents is the most dangerous decision to our democracy of our time."

Congratulations to Morgaine Wilkins-Dean

 
Girl Scout honored as Future Business Leader
 
Gold Award Girl Scout Morgaine Wilkins-Dean, a graduate of East High School, is being honored by the Denver Business Journal as the 2024 Future Outstanding Woman in Business at an August 1 awards dinner and an August 2 special section of the publication.
 
Morgaine's Gold Award project involved a yearlong effort to educate families about Colorado Safe Storage laws to reduce gun violence at schools.
 
Morgaine is the daughter of Andrea Wilkins, LWVCO's Legislative Liaison.

The LWVCO Office will be closed July 4-5 in observance of Independence Day.

The office will reopen at normal business hours on Monday, July 8, 2024.
