CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

To support LWVCO’s efforts to codify the right to abortion in the Colorado Constitution in partnership with the Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice Coalition (RHRJC), we’re gathering a variety of volunteers who are willing to do what the League does best: mobilize.

The campaign wants 185,000 signatures, and of course signatures are needed from all 35 state senate districts by April. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to codify the right to complete reproductive healthcare for all Coloradans into our state’s constitution.

All volunteers will be required to participate in a short training session.

National Civics Bee

The US and Colorado Chambers of Commerce are sponsoring a Middle School Civics Bee, turning civic education into an engaging competition.

This initiative aims to instill essential skills in students, fostering a sense of civic responsibility and active participation. The involvement of Chambers of Commerce underscores the importance of civic knowledge in shaping a future of informed and engaged citizens.

The Civics Bee serves as a pathway to building tomorrow's leaders, cultivating a passion for civic learning and empowering students to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

LWV Park County Shows up for the Cowboy Christmas & Parade of Lights!

LWV Park County President Charlotte Wytias served as the Grand Marshall of the 2023 Cowboy Christmas Parade, a perk of having won the 2023 GRACIE (G.R.A.C.I.E.= Giving, Resourceful, Admirable, Caring, Involved, and Exceptional) Award from the Platte Canyon Area Chamber of Commerce! Just one of the many benefits Charlotte has offered Park County is the founding of LWV Park County, now in its third year.

THANK YOU and HOORAY FOR CHARLOTTE!

Tell Congress That Equality Belongs in the Constitution

by LWVUS

More than 100 years after some women gained the right to vote, people in the United States are still not constitutionally guaranteed equality on the basis of sex. The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) will update the US Constitution to protect the equality of rights under the law regardless of sex. The ERA has met all ratification requirements, and now we are urging Congress to act to ensure that the ERA is published.
