In early November the LWV of Larimer County, in collaboration with allies in Fort Collins, rallied a large crowd for a screening of the documentary "The Janes". The film tells the story of Chicago women in the late 1960s who were part of a clandestine network to provide service for women seeking safe, affordable, illegal abortions. The women, calling themselves JANE and using code names, blindfolds and safe houses provided over 11,000 abortions in their area.

The film is available through HBO MAX.

Following the film one of the Chicago group's members joined via Zoom for a Q&A period.

LWVCO Board member, Sharon Davis, spoke about her work around the issue and offered a resource list available at https:bit.ly/3TDYinO.

The film was well received and activated the audience members to support efforts in today's post Roe world. Check out the trailer https://www.imdb.com/title/tt16377356/
