Will report on the influence of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) in the CO Legislature.

Will discuss the challenges of running and serving in the State Legislature

Toni Larson, LWVCO VP and Chair of the Fair District Coalition

Will provide an update on the LWVCO lead efforts to establish an independent commission to draw fair congressional district lines.

‘Money In Politics’ Activists, LWV Boulder County Committee

Will provide specific actions you can use to influence Money In Politics in Colorado and your community.

  • How dark money has and is influencing democracy in Colorado.
  • How Supreme Court rulings have enabled the influence of large campaign donations.
  • What is ALEC? What is the Bradley Foundation?
  • Are the influences that worked in Wisconsin moving into Colorado?

The League is deeply committed to reforming our nation’s campaign finance system to ensure the public’s right to know, combat corruption and undue influence, enable candidates to compete more equitably for public office and allow maximum citizen participation in the political process.
