Honoring Representative Brianna Titone

ON JUNE 15, 2024, the League of Women Voters of Colorado will proudly honor REPRESENTATIVE BRIANNA TITONE of Colorado’s 27th State House District as the recipient of the 2024 Leader of Democracy Award. Representative Titone has been recognized for her unwavering commitment to restoring trust in our electoral processes and elected representatives.

Throughout her tenure, Representative Titone has demonstrated a steadfast dedication to safeguarding Colorado’s environmental and water resources while championing legislation aimed at decriminalizing poverty. Her advocacy includes initiatives such as advocating for tax credits and ensuring eviction fairness, all aimed at promoting respect, equity, and justice for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, particularly youth.

At a time when individuals in other states face discrimination for embracing their true identities, Representative Titone's outspoken support for vulnerable children and adults has been both essential and invaluable.

For those unable to attend in person, we are grateful to our partner El Semanario for livestreaming this event, ensuring that all can participate in celebrating Representative Titone's remarkable achievements.

Our Leader of Democracy 2024 Award Luncheon will be at the exquisite Limelight Hotel in Downtown Denver in their Aspen Ballroom.

The theme is "Tipping Point For Democracy," with the program divided into two sections based on our mission – Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.

We will be championing our local leaders, as well as celebrating all that we have accomplished this year and what our vision is for this unprecedented election.

Past Leader of Democracy recipients include Representative Jason Crow, Senator Polly Baca, former Secretary of State Wayne Williams, and the multipartisan Y&Z Coalition, which helped to draft and promote Amendments Y&Z allowing for independent redistricting.
